GoMining Launches Digital Bitcoin Miners as Gifts for Crypto and Non-Crypto Users

See what traders are focused on

GoMining has launchedGoMining Gifts, a new service that allows users to send a digital Bitcoin miner to another person as a gift, extending the company’s app-based mining model to a use case that does not require the recipient to already own cryptocurrency or understand how to operate mining hardware.

The service turns a digital Bitcoin miner into a transferable gift that can be purchased in advance and delivered through a single link. Buyers can select a miner, add a greeting card and personal message, and send the resulting link through messaging apps or email. Recipients can then open the link and activate the miner with a single action.

The approach is different from conventional cryptocurrency gift cards. A gift card generally represents a balance that the recipient spends, while GoMining Gifts provides a digital mining position that is purchased upfront and continues generating Bitcoin rewards after activation.

The recipient does not need to have a GoMining account before receiving the gift. During activation, they can use an existing account or create one, after which the digital miner becomes part of their GoMining account and its associated mining activity can be tracked through the company’s application.

The launch comes as crypto companies increasingly look for ways to introduce digital assets to consumers through products that resemble familiar financial or consumer experiences. Instead of requiring a new user to first purchase cryptocurrency, set up a wallet and navigate an exchange, GoMining is packaging access to Bitcoin mining into a conventional gifting experience.

GoMining Gifts is available across eight pricing tiers, ranging from less than$20for theAtomminer to more than$2,800for theInfinitumtier. The miners range from1 terahash (TH) to 155 THof computing power, with the products issued at an efficiency of12 watts per TH, according to the company.

The different tiers are intended to cover a range of gifting occasions, from relatively inexpensive presents to larger purchases associated with events such as weddings or new-home celebrations.

The underlying product is based on GoMining’s digital miner model, in which users acquire a share of computing power backed by physical Bitcoin mining infrastructure. GoMining says its digital miners connect to real data-center infrastructure, allowing users to participate in Bitcoin mining without owning or maintaining an ASIC machine themselves.

That distinction is important because conventional Bitcoin mining requires specialized hardware, electricity, cooling, maintenance and technical expertise. GoMining’s model abstracts those physical requirements away from the end user and presents mining through an application.

The gifting service extends that abstraction one step further. A person purchasing the gift does not need to transfer Bitcoin to the recipient or explain how to configure a mining operation. Instead, the recipient receives a link that leads to the activation process.

Once activated, recipients can monitor their mining activity and Bitcoin balance through the GoMining app and withdraw available funds. The company notes that Bitcoin rewards are variable and depend on factors including network difficulty, Bitcoin’s price and maintenance costs; rewards are not guaranteed.

The product therefore differs from a traditional prepaid gift. The buyer pays for the digital miner at the time of purchase, while the recipient receives the potential future Bitcoin rewards associated with the mining power.

GoMining has also built the service around relatively low entry costs. The company’s broader digital-miner marketplace currently lists miners beginning at around $13, while the platform says it has more than 3 million digital-miner holders and that those holders have collectively earned thousands of Bitcoin.

For consumers unfamiliar with Bitcoin mining, the appeal is largely one of accessibility. Physical mining equipment can involve significant upfront costs and operational requirements, whereas a digital miner can be acquired and managed through a smartphone application.

The gifting model also introduces Bitcoin mining to people who may not otherwise seek out cryptocurrency products themselves. A recipient could receive a miner as a birthday, wedding or housewarming gift and begin exploring Bitcoin through the mining activity rather than starting with a cryptocurrency purchase.

That creates a different onboarding mechanism for the crypto industry. Instead of asking consumers to make their first transaction on an exchange, establish a wallet or purchase an asset whose value can fluctuate, the initial interaction becomes a gift.

GoMining’s decision to launch a dedicated gifting platform also separates the experience from its broader mining marketplace. The recipient receives a direct activation link, while the buyer controls the initial purchase and personalization.

The company says purchases can be refunded in full within 30 days if the gift has not yet been activated. Availability remains subject to local rules and regulations in each market.

GoMining has positioned the new service within a broader ecosystem that includes Bitcoin mining, payments and crypto-based financial products. Its digital mining platform allows users to acquire and manage mining power through its application, while the company also operates products for crypto payments, earning and borrowing.

The company currently describes itself as an all-in-one Bitcoin ecosystem serving more than 5.5 million users and ranking among the top 10 Bitcoin mining entities globally by hashrate. Its mining infrastructure spans data centers in the United States and other locations.

The expansion into gifting is significant because it changes who the product is designed for. Digital miners were initially positioned primarily as an accessible alternative to physical Bitcoin mining, but GoMining Gifts makes the product suitable for someone who may have no prior relationship with cryptocurrency at all.

The broader digital-asset industry has spent years attempting to reduce the technical barriers associated with cryptocurrency adoption. Wallet addresses, private keys, exchanges and blockchain transactions can still be unfamiliar concepts to mainstream consumers. Products that hide some of that complexity behind familiar consumer experiences could provide another route into the ecosystem.

GoMining Gifts is now available through the dedicated GoMining Gifts platform. The company says recipients can activate a gifted miner without having an account beforehand, while buyers can select from the available miner tiers and personalize the gift before sending it.

The product ultimately turns Bitcoin mining from something that users typically have to seek out themselves into something that can be introduced through an ordinary social transaction: one person buys a digital miner, sends a link, and another person receives the ability to begin earning Bitcoin rewards through the platform.
