U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs See $450.4 Million Net Outflow After Senate Fails CLARITY Act
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted about $450.4 million in single-day outflows. Outflows followed the Senate’s failure to advance the Clarity Act.
10 outlets, one story, no spin found.
4 of 5 outlets skipped it: ether ETFs took in about $216m while Solana and XRP were nearly flat.
CoinDesk links the outflow to the CLARITY Act failure while Benzinga blames macro risk-off from oil and yields.
ETF outflows after Senate setback
U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds posted a $450.4 million net outflow on Tuesday, their largest daily redemption since June 24, after the Senate failed to advance the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act.

CoinDesk said U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs shed $450.33 million on Tuesday, the heaviest single-day outflow since June 25, as the Senate’s failure to advance the Clarity Act sent regulatory-sensitive tokens sharply lower.
CoinDesk reported bitcoin trading at $75,679, little changed since midnight UTC but 8% below its Sept.4 high, while XRP was down 8.1% over 24 hours.
CryptoSlate said the outflow erased Monday’s $159.9 million inflow, with Bitcoin trading near $75,900 at press time as the Federal Reserve’s policy decision remained pending at the same reporting cutoff.
Derivatives pressure and positioning
CoinDesk described forced deleveraging after the Senate’s procedural vote, saying leveraged futures positions worth more than $570 million were liquidated over the past 24 hours.
CoinDesk also reported the taker long-short ratio flipped bearish, with shorts accounting for 51.5% of flow over 24 hours, and said the Hyperliquid trader long/short ratio pulled back slightly to 2.53 from 2.71.
CryptoSlate tied the selling to Glassnode’s data, saying spot cumulative volume delta was negative $142 million, below its negative $115 million lower statistical band.
CryptoSlate added that perpetual cumulative volume delta dropped to negative $605 million, far below its negative $233 million lower band, while futures open interest eased from $37 billion to $36 billion but remained above its $36 billion upper band.
Who led redemptions, what next
Multiple outlets pointed to Fidelity and BlackRock as the main4.8 million and BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust seeing redemptions of $161.7 million

Cointelegraph said the $450 million withdrawal came as Bitcoin fell 2.5% and the CLARITY Act failed to advance in the Senate, with Fidelity and BlackRock funds leading the outflows.
Benzinga quoted dePIN blockvhainXYO co-founder Markus Levin saying, “The flow reversal came as oil moved above $100, Treasury yields approached 5%, and expectations for Fed tightening jumped,” framing the move as macro-driven risk reduction.
Benzinga also reported Levin warning that “I would need to see a much longer period of sustained redemptions” before concluding institutions were abandoning Bitcoin, even as it noted the 10-year Treasury yield crossed 5% on Tuesday.
