The SEC is opening a limited path for tokenized U.S. stock trading, giving platforms such as Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD), Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) and Securitize (NYSE:SECZ) a clearer regulatory framework for bringing traditional equities onto blockchain rails.

The heads of two federal financial regulators said on Sept. 16 that their agencies would proceed with crypto rulemaking under existing authority, after the US Senate voted against advancing the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act the previous day.

Bitcoin and altcoins experienced sharp declines following the failure of the Clarity Act to pass in the US. While the question now is whether the decline will continue, analysts have begun to suggest a bottom has been reached.
