Circle’s Arc mainnet is now live, and many users wonder how — and whether — they are to bridge USDC▼$0.9998 onto the network. That matters more on Arc than on most blockchains because USDC is Arc’s native gas asset. Here is how the process works and what to check before moving funds.
What Is Arc?
Arc is a Layer 1 blockchain created by Circle for financial applications. It is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, meaning developers can continue using familiar Solidity contracts, Ethereum-style addresses, wallets, and development tools.
The unusual part is its gas model. On Ethereum, users typically hold USDC but need ETH▲$2,518.27 to pay transaction fees. Similarly, they need SOL▲$101.41 on Solana. But on Arc, USDC itself pays gas.
That means a user arriving on Arc does not need to acquire a second volatile token just to move money or interact with an application.
Circle also says Arc provides deterministic finality in under one second and launches with interoperability across more than 20 blockchains through CCTP and Gateway.
Why Bridge USDC Through CCTP?
Traditional crypto bridges often work by locking an asset on one blockchain and issuing a wrapped representation somewhere else.
CCTP works differently.
When you bridge USDC through CCTP, USDC is burned on thet burn, and an equivalent amount of native USDC is then minted on the destination blockchain

Arc has only just entered public mainnet, so individual wallet and bridge interfaces may add support at different times. Before transferring money, confirm that the interface you are using explicitly lists Arc Mainnet, not Arc Testnet.

Step 1: Make Sure You Hold Native USDC
First, choose the blockchain from which you want to bridge USDC.
CCTP supports native USDC across numerous networks, including major ecosystems such as Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Solana, and others.
Make sure the asset in your wallet is native USDC rather than a third-party wrapped version with a similar ticker.

Step 2: Use a Compatible Wallet
Arc uses Ethereum-style addresses and EVM tooling, so EVM wallets can support the network.
If you are bridging from another EVM chain, such as Ethereum or Base, your Arc destination address can normally be the same 0x address controlled by your wallet.
If you are coming from a non-EVM network such as Solana, pay particular attention to the destination address because the address formats differ.
Never assume the bridge has automatically selected the correct recipient.
Step 3: Add Arc Mainnet to Your Wallet
If your wallet does not already display Arc, add Arc Mainnet using the network configuration supplied through official Arc documentation or your wallet’s built-in network directory.
Be careful here because Arc Testnet has been available much longer than mainnet.
A bridge showing Arc Testnet is not suitable for real USDC.
Before proceeding, verify that both the wallet and bridge interface explicitly identify the destination as Arc Mainnet.
Step 4: Select Your
Open a CCTP-powered bridge interface that explicitly supports Arc Mainnet.

- To: Arc Mainnet
- Asset: USDC
- Recipient: your Arc-compatible wallet address
Then enter the amount you want to transfer.
This is the point where users should slow down. Sending USDC to the wrong chain or recipient address can make funds unrecoverable.
For a first transfer, bridging a small test amount before moving a large balance is sensible.
Step 5: Approve USDC
If this is your first time using that CCTP integration, your wallet may ask you to approve the USDC contract.
The approval allows the relevant smart contract to access a specified amount of USDC for the transfer.
Check the spending limit before signing.
After approval, you will normally receive a second wallet request for the actual cross-chain transaction.
Step 6: Confirm the Transfer
Once you confirm, CCTP starts the process.

Once the bridge completes, switch your wallet to Arc.
The received asset should be native USDC, not a separately wrapped token.
This is also where Arc becomes unusual. You can immediately use the USDC you just received to pay network fees. No need to separately acquire ETH or another native coin before making your first Arc transaction.
That makes the process to bridge USDC onto Arc simpler than onboarding onto many conventional EVM networks.
Can You Use Circle’s USDC Bridge Website?
Circle operates its own consumer-facing USDC Bridge at bridge.usdc.com, powered by CCTP.
As of September 17, Circle’s help-center list of networks supported by the USDC Bridge frontend already lists Arc, although the new blockchain was not available immediately upon launch.
However, the transfer might not yet work smoothly for every user in every location.
If Arc Mainnet does not appear in the destination list, do not substitute Arc Testnet or manually send tokens to an address. Wait for an interface that explicitly supports Arc Mainnet or use an Arc/Circle integration that has confirmed mainnet support.
