The U.S., a major supplier of dollar-pegged stablecoins, has again become a net importer of Bitcoin, with inflows exceeding outflows for the first time since 2022, according to blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis.
Based on data for the year through June 2026, Chainalysis said transactions under $10,000 posted net outflows throughout the period. Larger transactions, however, shifted to net inflows, with transfers worth more than $10 million alone driving net inflows of 53,200 BTC into the U.S., or about $4.3 billion. The figures suggest U.S. retail investors are sending Bitcoin overseas, while institutions are bringing Bitcoin into the U.S., Chainalysis said.
Chainalysis primarily used web traffic data from related crypto services to track Bitcoin “exports” and “imports.”
