Shinhan Card will begin testing direct payments between blockchain-based wallets with digital asset company Dunamu, The Asia Business Daily reported.
The payment pilot using Dunamu’s Kiva Chain-based wallet is the first such case among card issuers for Shinhan Card. The test will be conducted for employees at a merchant location on the basement first floor of the company’s headquarters in Euljiro, central Seoul, using Dunamu’s public blockchain Kiva Chain and its dedicated Kiva Wallet. Payments will use a token issued by Shinhan Card on Kiva Chain. Dunamu will provide the blockchain infrastructure, while Shinhan Card will directly issue and operate the token.
