Blockchain security firm CertiK said an attack exploiting a smart contract vulnerability in the BNB Chain-based NEM token caused about $820,000 in losses. The hacker targeted the NEM/USDT liquidity pool on decentralized exchange PancakeSwap, exploiting a flaw that treated tokens sent to the pool as sell orders regardless of whether an actual sale took place.
