Charles Schwab Corp., the US financial services firm that oversees $13 trillion in assets, is expanding the range of cryptocurrencies available through its trading service.
The company said Aug. 27 that it plans to add spot trading in three more tokens on Schwab Crypto in the coming months: Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Chainlink (LINK).
Charles Schwab began offering spot cryptocurrency trading to retail clients in May. The service currently supports Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH). The addition of the three tokens will bring the total number of tradable cryptocurrencies to five.
The expansion will give clients more options as they build digital-asset portfolios alongside Charles Schwab’s investing and banking services, Joe Vietri, the firm’s head of digital assets, said.
Charles Schwab said it selected the three tokens for spot trading because of strong client demand and their established ecosystems. The firm said it plans to continue expanding the cryptocurrencies and digital-asset products available on Schwab Crypto.
