It is an on-site program, named theApex Growth Accelerator, scheduled to run for 10 weeks at the San Mateo campus in California. Participating companies will gain access to specialized technical mentorship and the Draper ecosystem’s business networking channels.
This collaboration channels reproducts. Through this model, they aim to transform early-stage projects into entities capable of securing formal funding rounds
The program’s financial framework provides up to$70,000for each admitted team, targeting a 3.5% equity stake. This model replaces the traditional non-repayable grant format with a direct equity partnership between founders and investors.
Draper University reported that the application process prioritizes projects focused onreal-world asset (RWA)tokenization and institutional DeFi protocols. Industry spokespersons note that this focus could streamline integration between traditional capital markets and smart contract architecture.
Financial backing for the program stems from its integration with the Orion Fund, an $80 million strategic fund announced in April 2026 in collaboration withDraper Dragon. The Cardano Foundation provides institutional support and technical alignment for program oversight.
Technical Focus and Link to Bitcoin Liquidity
Cardano’s architecture operates under the Extended UTXO (EUTXO) model and smart contract languages such as Plutus and Marlowe. This foundational design shares core security principles with theBitcoin networkby recording transactions
According to technical documentation from theOrion Fund, structural compatibility between both protocols provides a pathway to channelBitcoinliquidity into Cardano financial tools. Initiative representatives point out that the EUTXO model could reduce operational vulnerabilities in complex liquidations across the DeFi layer.
Tim Draper’s track record includes early investments in companies such asCoinbase,Tesla, andBaidu. Within the crypto asset space, the investor publicly champions corporate adoption of distributed ledger technology.
TheCardano ecosystemrecorded sustained growth in smart contract deployments during the first half of 2026, according to on-chain sector metrics. Market analysts attribute this momentum to developer interest in formal code verification frameworks applied to treasuries and financial derivatives.
The selection process for theApex Growth Acceleratorcohort will keep applications open until September 1, 2026. Final admission notifications will be sent on September 10, 2026, kicking off the technical residency cycle on October 5, 2026.
