XRP is trading around $1.35 – $1.40 as investors prepare for the U.S. Senate’s crucial procedural vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) on September 15.
The token has pulled back from its late August rally, but institutional demand remains notable. U.S. spot XRP ETFs have attracted roughly $1.7 billion in cumulative net inflows, according to recent industry data.
With the Senate vote just one day away, the $1.40 – $1.45 region has become an important resistance zone for XRP.
XRP Faces Key Resistance Before the Vote
XRP has gained more than 35% over the past month, but the rally has cooled after the token approached the $1.70 area.
It is now hovering near $1.35, with buyers attempting to stabilize the price ahead of the Senate vote.
A sustained move above $1.40 – $1.45 could strengthen the recovery and put $1.50 back in focus. A break above that level could eventually open the path toward $1.70.
However, failure to hold current levels could send XRP back toward the $1.30 support area.
The timing of the next move is closely tied to Washington.
What Happens on September 15?
The Senate vote scheduled for Tuesday is not a final vote to pass the CLARITY Act into law.
Instead, senators will vote on cloture for the motion to proceed to H.R. 3633. The procedural hurdle requires 60 votes to advance the legislation to floor consideration.
Republicans hold 53 Senate seats, meaning the bill needs meaningful Democratic support to clear the threshold.
The outcome could therefore become a major short-term catalyst for XRP and the broader crypto market.
CLARITY Act Gets a Last-Minute Update
Senator Cynthia Lummis released updated CLARITY Act text on September 10 ahead of the vote.
The revised version includes provisions covering when non-decentralized DeFi protocols must register with the CFTC and comply with the Bank Secrecy Act. It also clarifies certain digital asset activities by credit unions.
The legislation has been subject to months of negotiations between Republicans and Democrats. The latest changes are aimed at addressing concerns that could otherwise prevent the bill from reaching the required 60 votes.
The bill’s outcome remains uncertain despite the final push.
What CLARITY Could Mean for XRP
The biggest potential benefit for XRP is greater certainty around its regulatory treatment.
The CLARITY framework is designed to establish clearer boundaries between the SEC and CFTC and create a federal framework for digital assets.
For XRP, which has faced years of regulatory uncertainty, a clearer statutory framework could improve institutional confidence.
However, the September 15 vote would only allow the bill to advance. It would not immediately establish XRP as a digital commodity or remove the SEC from the regulatory picture.

XRP Price Scenarios
|
The Senate can begin floor consideration, debate and amendments. The bill moves closer to establishing a federal digital-asset framework. |
Bullish: XRP could attempt to reclaim $1.50 – $1.70 if market sentiment improves. |
|
|
The legislation could stall, leaving crypto regulation dependent on existing laws, agency actions and further negotiations. |
Bearish: XRP could face a correction toward $1.30, with $1.00 becoming a deeper support risk if selling accelerates. |
These are market scenarios, not guaranteed price outcomes.
ETF Demand Provides a Backdrop
XRP’s ETF market provides another important signal.
U.S. spot XRP ETFs have accumulated roughly $1.7 billion in net inflows since launching, despite XRP remaining well below its previous cycle highs.
That suggests institutional interest has remained relatively strong even during recent price weakness.
A positive CLARITY outcome could therefore give existing institutional demand another catalyst.
On the other hand, a failed vote could weaken sentiment and potentially encourage traders to take profits after XRP’s recent rally.
XRP’s Next Move Depends on Washington
XRP enters the final hours before the vote at a critical technical and fundamental point.
A move above $1.40 – $1.45 would strengthen the short-term recovery, while $1.50 and $1.70 become the next important upside areas.
On the downside, $1.30 remains the first major level to watch.
The Senate’s decision could determine which direction XRP takes next.
For now, XRP is waiting for Washington to provide the regulatory clarity that the market has been pricing in for months.
