For investors looking for the best crypto under $1, nine well-known options to consider range fromTRON(CRYPTO:TRX) to Pepe. Unfortunately, many of these have seen significant price drops over the past month. Bitcoin(CRYPTO:BTC) is trading at $81,449, down 6.9% in 2026, and smaller coins have fared even worse.
Low prices often attract buyers who believe cheaper coins have more growth potential. However, price alone doesn’t determine value. Market capitalization, calculated by multiplying the price by the number of coins in circulation, reflects how much investors think the entire network is worth. Any price rally needs to lift this overall market value.
So, out of these nine cryptocurrencies, which one is best positioned for growth in the remainder of 2026? We assessed them based on revenue, momentum, losses from their all-time highs, growth drivers, and overall risk.
Nine Popular Coins Trade Under $1, but Their Values Differ Widely
In addition to TRON andPepe(CRYPTO:PEPE), this group includesDogecoin(CRYPTO:DOGE),Cardano(CRYPTO:ADA),Stellar(CRYPTO:XLM),Sui(CRYPTO:SUI),Hedera(CRYPTO:HBAR),Shiba Inu(CRYPTO:SHIB), andOndo(CRYPTO:ONDO).
| Coin | Price | Market Value | 30-Day Move | Below Record |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TRON | $0.33 | $31.4 billion | -3.7% | 23.5% |
| Dogecoin | $0.08 | $12.6 billion | -19.3% | 89.0% |
| Cardano | $0.22 | $8.2 billion | -13.7% | 93.0% |
| Stellar | $0.18 | $6.2 billion | -17.5% | 79.8% |
| Sui | $0.997 | $4.1 billion | -1.9% | 81.4% |
| Hedera | $0.08 | $3.5 billion | -16.3% | 85.9% |
| Shiba Inu | $0.00000511 | $3.0 billion | -14.6% | 94.1% |
| Pepe | $0.00000507 | $2.1 billion | +7.0% | 81.9% |
| Ondo | $0.43 | $2.1 billion | -0.5% | 79.7% |
Coins with increasing supplies also face challenges. For example, Sui has 4.12 billion tokens in circulation, giving it a market value of about $4.1 billion on a total supply of 10 billion tokens. This means its fully diluted market cap—what it would be valued at if all tokens were available—would be around $9.9 billion.
Ondo has a similar setup, with 4.87 billion tokens circulating, creating a $2.1 billion market cap from the same total supply. As new tokens become available, investors will need to invest more money to keep the price the same. Dogecoin, for instance, has no capped supply and already has 156.43 billion coins in circulation.
TRON Outperforms Rivals in Revenue
TRON generated $23.4 million in fee revenue over one month, according to DefiLlama data up to October 20. This surpasses thecombined earningsof <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/is-ethereum-a-buy-under-2400-we-asked-grok-ai/” title=”Is Ethereum a Buy Under $2,400? We Asked Grok AI”>Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) and Solana (CRYPTO:SOL), and TRON is also the only coin on the list that has gained value over the past year, up 2.4%.
However,Tether(CRYPTO:USDT) accounts for 97.8% of the nearly $95 billion in stablecoins on TRON, so most of its revenue comes from one issuer’s transfers.
Hedera and Stellar show some activity, but their fee earnings are minimal. Hedera’s transactions surged 168.4% in one month, yet HBAR’s price kept declining because transaction fees are only a fraction of a cent. Stellar’s biggest potential comes from the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) ‘s plans to tokenize assets on Stellar, but this initiative isn’t expected to go live until early 2027, after the 2026 window closes.
Sui, Pepe, and Ondo carry the momentum. Sui’s value rose 37.4% over the last 90 days, while Pepe jumped 61.5% over the same period. Ondo has risen by 20.3% in 2026, making it the top performer among the group. However, as a meme coin, Pepe lacks revenue to support this price increase.
Price Drops Signal Both Opportunities and Risks
Shiba Inu trades 94.1% below itsall-time high, Cardano 93%, and Dogecoin 89%. Cardano peaked at $3.09 in September 2021, suggesting it could rebound significantly.
However, these steep declines also suggest that many investors have shifted their focus elsewhere. Cardano has dropped 67% over the last year, while Dogecoin has lost 59.5% of its value. In contrast, TRON is only 23.5% below its peak, suggesting stronger and more consistent demand.
Which Is the Best Crypto Under $1 for 2026?
In our assessment, TRON, Sui, and Ondo have the strongest growth potential. TRON benefits from reliable fee revenue and may surpass its previous high of $0.43 recorded on December 3, 2024, a 30.6% increase, though Tether could move to a cheaper chain. Sui shows the most promising momentum, but much of its token supply has yet to reach the market. Ondo has posted the highest 2026 gain but faces similar dilution concerns.
For any of these coins to grow, Bitcoin would likely need to top $87,498, its 2025 closing price and about 7.4% higher, as itsmarket shareeases. Sui would need $1.40, its 2026 opening price, about 40.4% higher. If Bitcoin drops instead, Sui, Ondo, and Pepe could quickly lose their gains. TRON has the best chance of a new record by December 31, while Sui has the most upside in a Bitcoin recovery.
