What Will XRP Be Worth by 2028?

Standard Chartered sees XRP at $12.60 by 2028, but two conditions must be met first and neither has happened yet. Whether XRP even reclaims its 2026 opening price depends on a supply dynamic most investors are ignoring.

XRP (CRYPTO:XRP)  trades at $1.35 as of September 13, 2026, down 26.6% since the start of the year. Standard Chartered says the XRP price could reach $12.60 by 2028, but XRP has never traded above $3.84.

Getting back to $1.84, where it opened the year, takes around 36% gain. Meanwhile, hitting Standard Chartered’s forecast would see XRP surge by 833%, and the bank attaches two conditions to it, neither of which has been met. So what will XRP actually be worth by 2028?

Can XRP Target $1.84, $3.65 or $3.84 Before 2028?

XRP opened 2026 at $1.84, and getting back there takes 36% from the current price. The 2025 cycle high of $3.65, set on July 18, takes 170%, or 2.7 times. The all-time high of $3.84, set in January 2018, takes 184%, or 2.8 times.

XRP trades 36.7% above its cycle low of $0.9877, set on August 17. The realized price, meaning the average price paid across every coin in circulation, is about $1.48, so XRP changes hands 8.8% below what the average holder paid. Roughly 60% of supply is held at a loss, and those holders tend to sell when they reach breakeven, which caps rallies before they extend.

The 36% climb needs no new catalyst, because a coin already up 36.7% off its low can cover that ground on ordinary buying. The 170% and 184% climbs need several, and the second of them asks XRP to do something it has never done.

Standard Chartered’s $12.60 XRP Target Carries Two Conditions

Geoffrey Kendrick, Standard Chartered’s head of digital assets research, publishes ayear-by-year ladderrunning $2.80 in 2026, $7 in 2027, $12.60 in 2028, $19.60 in 2029 and $28 in 2030. The 2028 figure is 9.3 times the current price, and the 2030 figure is nearly 21 times.

The $2.80 level needs only a macro recovery, while$7 to $12.60 requiresthe CLARITY Act to pass and spot XRP ETF inflows to scale past $4 billion, which separates a macro bet from a structural one.

EGRAG, an XRP-focused chartist, projects a different sequence, with a first target of $6.40, or 4.7 times the current price, then $15, then $27, then above $50. Both ladders start below $3.84 and finish far above it, so both need XRP to take the 2018 record before any 2028 conversation opens. XRP has never closed above that level in the eight years since it set it.

Neither of Kendrick’s XRP Conditions Has Been Met

XRP spot ETFs hold about 1.7% of circulating supply against Bitcoin’s 6.35%. Ripple releases about 1 billion XRP fromescrowevery month and relocks most of it, with 200 million to 400 million reaching the market. ETF buyers would need to take more than that monthly release before the supply side stops working against the price.

Senator Cynthia Lummis warned that if theCLARITY Act, the market-structure bill splitting crypto oversight between the SEC and CFTC, doesn’t pass now, the next window slips to 2030. That would push the first of Kendrick’s two conditions past his own 2028 target date.

RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar stablecoin, now carries more than $1.5 billion across the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. That is demand moving through Ripple’s network without touching XRP, which makes the ETF condition harder rather than easier, because the growth institutions are buying into does not require the coin.

One of the Three XRP Targets Is Likely by 2028

XRP probably reclaims $1.84 by 2028, because two years is a long window for a 36% move and nothing new has to happen for it. Reclaiming $3.65 is closer to even, because XRP has rallied roughly 1,000% after each of three prior drawdowns beyond 60%, and the current drawdown is the fourth. Three episodes is a small sample, so that history supports the case without settling it.

Reclaiming $3.84 is harder than reclaiming $3.65, and nothing in the current setup makes the last 19 cents easier than the first 170%. Standard Chartered’s $12.60 needs both of Kendrick’s conditions inside two years, and the CLARITY Act window could close first. The figure to watch is ETF penetration against Bitcoin’s 6.35%, because that is the condition with no deadline, and it either builds through 2027 or the 2028 ladder stops being a forecast.
