Donald Trump’s fortune has a new engine, and it runs on crypto. Forbes estimates the president’s net worth at $6.5 billion as of March 2026, with digital assets now the single biggest driver of his wealth, his crypto-related holdings and liquid assets come to about $2.1 billion
It’s a striking turn for a man who once called crypto “a scam.” Forbes estimates Trump’s net worth at $6.5 billion, as cryptocurrency and real estate boost his wealth.
Where the Bitcoin sits
Trump’s Bitcoin exposure runs through two channels. His 2025 federal disclosure, released June 30, 2026, lists two Bitcoin cold wallet entries, each in the “over $50,000,000” category.
On top of that, he holds about 41.5% of Trump Media & Technology Group, which reinvented itself as a Bitcoin treasury company, the firm held roughly 12,000 BTC in mid-August, worth about $758 million.
The all-in math
So what if Trump converted his entire Forbes-estimated fortune into Bitcoin? At roughly $79,000 a coin, $6.5 billion would buy about 82,000 BTC.
That’s around 0.4% of the 20.08 million Bitcoin in circulation, roughly six times his own Trump Media stash, and far above the 8,300-plus BTC held by American Bitcoin, the miner co-founded by his son Eric Trump.
The scenario is hypothetical for a reason. Forbes notes only about $1.1 billion of Trump’s assets are liquid; the rest is tied up in real estate, golf clubs and stock.
The $6.5 billion is a Forbes estimate, not a disclosed balance sheet, and much of it sits in volatile holdings, his World Liberty Financial tokens now trade near $0.057, down roughly 80% from their peak.
