Solana is one of the fastest blockchains on the market, with its infrastructure designed to process transactions quickly and at scale. Its ecosystem now supports a wide range of applications, from DeFi platforms and token projects to wallets, marketplaces, and other blockchain-based tools. Building these applications, however, requires developers to access data stored on the network and interact with its infrastructure.

This is where Solana APIs come in.

Solana APIs provide developers a way to connect their applications to the blockchain without having to build every part of that connection from scratch. Depending on the provider, an API can offer access to blockchain data, transaction processing, indexed information, analytics, and other tools that make development easier. Since different APIs focus on different needs, factors such as the type of application being built, the data required, performance, and pricing can all influence which one is the better fit. With that in mind, here are the top 6 Solana APIs worth considering in September 2026.

    1. Helius

Helius is primarily a Solana API that makes it easier for developers to work with data from the network. It supports standard RPC and WebSocket access, but also adds tools that can turn raw blockchain data into something easier to use. These include decoded transactions, token and NFT data, webhooks for real-time updates, and the Digital Asset Standard (DAS). Helius also supports Mainnet and Devnet and reports 99.99% uptime, with infrastructure across 11 regions and latency of under 100 milliseconds globally.

This makes Helius a useful option for projects such as DeFi apps, NFT platforms, trading bots, and other applications that need reliable, up-to-date Solana data. There is a free plan with 1 million monthly credits and 10 requests per second, making it perfect for single users; however, paid plans range from $49 to $2,900 per month, depending on team size and requirements.

    2. ChangeNOW

Unlike the other APIs on the list, ChangeNOW differs as it focuses more on crypto swaps rather than Solana data or node access. Its REST API lets wallets, dApps, exchanges, and payment platforms add in-app swaps without having to build their own exchange logic, liquidity routing, or transaction processing. It supports more than 1,500 assets across 110+ blockchains, with over 2.25 million exchange pairs and liquidity sourced from both centralised and decentralised exchanges. The API also supports standard and fixed-rate swaps, along with tools for creating and tracking transactions.

There are no setup or monthly fees, and partners receive a free API key. Apps can also set a custom commission of up to 0.4% on transactions. ChangeNOW reports 99.99% availability and a 350-millisecond response time. The platform also offers widgets, white-label exchange flows, multichain bridge support, and Telegram bot integrations, making it useful for products that want to add swap functionality without building the exchange infrastructure themselves.

    3. Alchemy

Alchemy is an API that offers the best of both worlds with access to Solana infrastructure and real-time data that comes from the same provider. Alongside standard JSON-RPC and WebSocket connections, it provides Yellowstone gRPC for streaming live blockchain data, as well as DAS and Photon APIs for working with tokens, NFTs, and compressed assets. This gives teams a way to handle both regular blockchain requests and real-time data through the same provider. Alchemy supports Solana Mainnet and Devnet and reports 99.99% reliability for its RPC and Streaming API, with multi-region infrastructure and automatic failover to keep the connection running.

The free plan provides 30 million Compute Units per month, 25 requests per second, five apps, and five webhooks, which is enough for early testing. For larger workloads, the Pay As You Go plan starts at 300 requests per second, with the first 300 million Compute Units costing $0.45 per million CUs. Enterprise plans start at 1,000 requests per second with custom pricing, while Yellowstone gRPC costs $80 per TB and WebSocket subscriptions are charged based on bandwidth. With this setup, Alchemy is particularly suited to wallets, DeFi apps, trading bots, analytics platforms, and custom indexers that need reliable RPC access as well as live Solana data.

    4. CoinStats

CoinStats is a more data-heavy API, giving developers actionable information instead of making them work with raw Solana transaction data. Its REST API can provide SOL balances, SPL tokens, transaction histories, DeFi positions, and token prices through simple JSON responses. It also covers data from more than 120 blockchains and 10,000+ DeFi protocols, which can be useful for wallets, portfolio trackers, tax tools, and dashboards that need to work across multiple networks. CoinStats also offers an MCP Server that gives AI agents and LLMs access to wallet data.

The API uses a credit-based pricing model, with some requests using 30 to 50 credits depending on the endpoint. The free plan includes 50,000 monthly credits and up to 5 requests per second, while paid plans start at $49 per month for 1 million credits. The Pro plan offers 5 million credits for $199 per month, and the Business plan increases this to 80 million credits for $999 per month. Enterprise pricing is custom, with the overall cost depending on how much data an application needs.

    5. Chainstack

Chainstack is a managed Solana RPC and node provider designed for teams looking for reliable blockchain access without wanting to run or build their own infrastructure. It offers both shared and dedicated nodes, along with geo-distributed infrastructure for lower-latency access. Its Yellowstone gRPC streaming can deliver on-chain data in under a second, which makes it particularly useful for trading bots, DeFi applications, and other systems where timing matters. Chainstack also supports more than 70 blockchains, so it can be a practical option for teams building applications across multiple networks.

The platform offers a free tier for development and testing, while paid plans scale based on factors such as throughput and node type rather than credits per API call. Chainstack reports a 99.99% uptime SLA and also offers unlimited nodes for larger production workloads with stricter performance requirements. Its focus on infrastructure makes it more suited to production applications, enterprise teams, wallets, and AI agents that need dependable RPC access than to projects looking for a ready-made data or portfolio API.

    6. CoinAPI

CoinAPI is focused on crypto market data rather than direct access to the Solana network. It brings together data from more than 300 exchanges through a single API, giving developers access to real-time and historical SOL trades, quotes, order books, and OHLCV data. The data is standardized across exchanges, so trading platforms, pricing tools, and analytics products don’t have to build separate integrations for each market.

CoinAPI offers pay-as-you-go access, with $25 in free monthly credits, while fixed plans start at $79 per month for Startup, followed by $249 for Streamer and $599 for Pro. Paid plans include a 99.9% uptime SLA, while latency guarantees are available through custom Enterprise plans. This makes CoinAPI a better fit for trading platforms, quantitative research, and backtesting systems that need market data, but it is not designed for Solana RPC access, account indexing, NFT data, or token holder information.

    Final thoughts

Choosing a Solana API ultimately comes down to what the developer or team actually needs from it. Some projects may only need reliable RPC access, while others may require real-time data, token and NFT information, cross-chain functionality, or tools for handling larger production workloads. Pricing, request limits, reliability, and how easily an API can fit into an existing application are also worth considering, especially as a project grows. Developers should therefore compare the available options based on their own requirements and, where possible, test a provider’s free version before committing to a paid plan or building more of their application around it. As always, users should do their own research, and understanding the API’s features, limits, and pricing is important before making a decision.
