Solana spot ETFs recorded their strongest weekly inflows since May, but the surge was concentrated in just two funds and did little to lift SOL’s price.
According to SoSoValue data provided in thes during the week ending August 14, roughly 70 times the previous week’s $144,930
The rebound marks the strongest weekly inflow since May 22. However, the numbers also reveal an important caveat: almost all of the fresh capital came through Bitwise and Morgan Stanley, while the rest of the Solana ETF market recorded no net flows.
Bitwise and Morgan Stanley drive Solana ETF inflows
Bitwise’s Solana ETF, BSOL, accounted for most of the week’s inflows.
The fund attracted $8.8 million on August 10, making up the majority of Solana’s $10.26 million weekly total. It was also BSOL’s strongest single-day inflow since May 12, according to the supplied SoSoValue data.
Morgan Stanley’s Solana Trust, MSOL, added another $1.43 million on August 11.
Combined, the two products accounted for virtually the entire weekly inflow.
Meanwhile, VanEck, Fidelity, 21Shares, Franklin Templeton and Grayscale recorded zero net flows during the week.
That concentration is important because the headline 70x increase makes the rebound look broader than it actually was.
Instead, the latest inflow surge was driven by two funds across just two trading sessions.
Solana ETFs extend seven-week inflow streak
Despite the concentration, Solana ETFs have maintained a positive trend.
The funds have now recorded seven consecutive weeks of net inflows, with combined inflows of approximately $28.05 million during that period.
That provides a more meaningful picture than the single-week jump.
The latest inflow may have been relatively concentrated, but the broader seven-week streak suggests that demand for regulated Solana investment products has remained positive.
SOL price fails to follow ETF inflows
The biggest catch is that stronger ETF demand has not translated into a meaningful SOL price rally.
Solana fell 1.18% during the period covered by the
Trading activity across the ETFs also weakened.
Combined weekly turnover fell to approximately $159.7 million, compared with $167.3 million the previous week.
That suggests the improvement in net flows did not come alongside a major increase in overall trading activity.
In other words, investors were putting more money into Solana ETF products, but market participation remained relatively subdued.
Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs move in the opposite direction
The Solana inflow rebound becomes even more notable when compared with the performance of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $389.7 million in weekly outflows, reversing the $853.5 million of inflows seen during the previous week.
Trading activity also declined, with combined Bitcoin ETF turnover falling to $6.94 billion, the lowest level reported since September 2024 in the supplied data.
Ethereum ETFs were also slightly negative, recording approximately $2.26 million in outflows after attracting $244.9 million the previous week.
The contrast suggests that institutional crypto flows were not uniformly bullish during the week.
Instead, Solana and some smaller altcoin products attracted capital while Bitcoin and Ethereum products experienced withdrawals.
XRP and HYPE ETFs also attract fresh capital
Solana was not the only altcoin benefiting from positive ETF flows.
XRP ETFs recorded approximately $2.25 million in inflows, extending their positive streak to five consecutive weeks.
Hyperliquid products also attracted approximately $2.74 million.
This is particularly interesting given that XRP and Solana have recently shown signs of diverging from Bitcoin and Ethereum in ETF flows.
Solana’s next test: the Agave v4.2 upgrade
The next potential catalyst for SOL could come from the network itself.
According to thetivation during the week of August 17. That makes the timing important for Solana investors
ETF inflows provide one potentialectations around Solana’s technical performance and long-term adoption
What the latest Solana ETF data really shows
The latest numbers are encouraging, but they need to be viewed in context.
Solana ETFs recorded $10.26 million in weekly inflows, roughly 70 times the previous week’s figure. The seven-week inflow streak is also a positive sign for demand.
However, almost all of the latest capital came through BSOL and MSOL, while several other major Solana ETF products recorded no net flows.
At the same time, SOL’s price declined and overall ETF trading volume weakened. That creates a mixed picture.
The positive interpretation is that regulated investment products continue to attract capital even while the broader crypto market remains uncertain. The more cautious interpretation is that the latest surge is too concentrated to yet signal a broad institutional rush into Solana.
The next few weeks should provide a clearer answer, particularly if inflows expand across more funds and SOL begins responding to the renewed demand.
