First Public-Chain Tokenized Fund Cleared by an EU Regulator

Aviva Investors has launched a tokenized share class of its USD Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger in partnership with Ripple, approved by the Central Bank of Ireland, marking the first public-chain tokenized fund structure cleared by a major EU regulator. 

The operational stack spans BNY Mellon for underlying asset custody, Komainu for digital asset custody, and Licuido for tokenization infrastructure, with the fund retaining the same investment objective, risk profile and regulatory protections as its traditional share class under a “digital twin” model.

Ripple Eyes Institutional Lending as XRP’s Next Use Case

Ripple product head Jazzi Cooper says institutional credit remains largely untapped in on-chain finance and could become a significant new role for XRP. The XRP Ledger’s Lending Protocol already enables fixed-term loans funded through Single Asset Vaults, with borrowers undergoing offchain underwriting while the lending itself runs on XRPL infrastructure. A protocol update is expected alongside XRPL 3.4.0 next week.

Ripple has hired Craig Beveridge as VP of Talent Acquisition, following five years building out talent acquisition at Cedar, as the company continues staffing up heading into its next growth phase. 

Ripple’s Abdallah Mukalled, Senior Policy Manager for the Middle East and Africa, is set to speak at the Middle East Stablecoin Forum 2026 in Dubai on September 17, an event expected to draw more than 300 participants and 30-plus speakers, including regulators and banks from across the GCC region.
