Ripple’s footprint across institutional finance kept expanding this week, from XRP being adopted as collateral for institutional credit lines to a new seat at the table with the City of London’s tokenization initiative. Here’s everything worth knowing from the past seven days.
XRP Emerges as Institutional Collateral
XRP is increasingly being used as collateral for institutional credit lines, a development enabled by the XLS-65/66 lending protocol now live on the XRP Ledger. Ripple Prime already accepts XRP as eligible collateral alongside Bitcoin, RLUSD, fiat currency, gold and treasuries.
Adding to that momentum, a September 8 SEC filing from Charles Schwab revealed that XRP ETFs are now being used as repo collateral, with usage reportedly growing quickly, a signal of deepening institutional trust barely a year after Ripple’s SEC litigation concluded.
Ripple Joins UK’s Tokenization Push
The City of London has allegedly named Ripple among 54 firms partnering with the UK’s Wholesale Digital Markets Champion over the next 12 months to help scale tokenization adoption and establish clearer regulatory, legal and tax frameworks. The relationship isn’t new. Ripple completed a proof-of-concept with the Bank of England back in 2017 and has spent years providing input on digital asset regulation in the region. The company also secured an EMI license and FCA approval in 2026, allowing it to operate across the UK.
Ripple has hired Brian Beck, previously of Google and PayPal, to lead developer relations and ecosystem growth at RippleX. His role centers on helping developers turn the XRP Ledger into products that businesses and consumers actually use day to day.

A photo circulating this week shows former Ripple executive Dan Morgan seated alongside senior European Parliament and European Commission policymakers, along with DTCC’s global policy lead, at a 2018 meeting in Brussels discussing the future of finance, a reminder that Ripple’s presence in European regulatory circles goes back years.
Heavy Trading Activity on Binance
XRP recorded its largest single-day combined inflow and outflow on Binance in six months on September 11, with $91.2 million moving in and $113.9 million moving out, while exchange reserves barely shifted. Experts described the activity as supply being reshuffled rather than any clear directional move, with funding rates cooling and liquidations occurring on both sides of the market.
XRP is trading near $1.36 after sweeping liquidity around the $1.34 level, a pattern some analysts say mirrors August’s setup, when XRP swept liquidity near $1.00 shortly before rallying to $1.62.
