Ripple just paid a reported $5 million a year to put the XRP logo on one of college football’s most watched fields, but stadium exposure and a rising token price are very different things, and the gap between them matters…

This post may contain links from our sponsors and affiliates, and Flywheel Publishing may receive compensation for actions taken through them.

Ripple signed a multi-year partnership with University of Florida Athletics that places the XRP logo on the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium beginning with the September 5 game against Florida Atlantic. Neither party disclosed a value, though the deal is reportedly worth $5 million a year, which would make it one of the largest field sponsorships in college football.

XRP(CRYPTO:XRP) has fallen 48% in twelve months even as Ripple has poured money into brand marketing, and the XRP price traded at $1.45 on September 4 against $2.79 in early September 2025.So would the stadium logo deal move the XRP price, or only Ripple’s brand?

What Ripple Bought at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium

Florida Athleticsannounced the deal on Xon September 4. The XRP logo will appear on each 25-yard line inside the stadium, on the Gators’ website and social media accounts, and on signs at events. Ripple will also fund financial and technology education for student-athletes and the wider campus.

Ripple has a lot to gain from the deal, because millions of football fans will see the XRP name and logo on television every Saturday. Ripple sells its payment technology to banks, and a name those banks have already heard of is easier to sell.

However, Florida Athletics is only selling advertising space. The deal does not include buying XRP, holding it, or require paying anyone in XRP.

What the Announcement Did Not Say About XRP

The release leaves out the three things, which are the sort of things that could actually move the XRP price. Florida Athletics did not say the university would accept XRP for tickets, merchandise or donations. It also did not say athletic department cash would be held in XRP, not that any vendor payment would settle in XRP.

A partner that wanted people to think the deal would lift the price would have said one of those things, because a sentence like that moves a coin.Ripple’s poston the deal also read “Gator Nation and XRP,” with no mention of the token’s price or use either.

Moreover, Ripple has spent money on brand marketing for years, but the XRP price has remained below its $3.84 ATH all along. The company signed a five-year deal with the Kansas Jayhawks in July 2026, placing an XRP patch on jerseys across the athletic program, and XRP fell below $1 the following month. Sponsorship deals create awareness among people who watch football on Saturdays, which is a wide audience but one with few crypto buyers in it.

Meanwhile, the XRP price climbed about 37% in the 30 days to September 4. XRP has followed expectations of a Fed pause and the wider crypto rally, since buyers respond to interest rates and money moving into the XRP ETFs long before they respond to news about sposorship deals.

What Would Have to Change for a Deal Like This to Reach the XRP Price

The XRP price moves on how many people want to buy the coin and how much of it exists, and a stadium sponsorship doesn’t change that. A bank or company would have to start paying people in XRP before the price could move, because that means buying the coin every time a payment goes out. The XRP price would also need a bank or a company to say it holds XRP as an investment.

That said, clear U.S. rules on which regulator oversees XRPand progress on theXRP ETFsdo more for the XRP price than news surrounding Ripple’s deals. A jersey patch does not change the law on who can hold crypto, and a field logo does not change whether a pension fund is allowed to buy it.

Will the Deal Move the XRP Price?

The Gators deal is unlikely to move the XRP price. It gives Ripple a Saturday audience the company did not have, and it is probably worth what Ripple is paying, whatever that number turns out to be. The XRP price has no reason to rise on the news, and the Kansas deal in July showed as much.

Ripple gains a name that people have seen, which helps when its sales team walks into a regional bank or a payments provider. XRP holders gain nothing directly from the agreement, because nothing in it obligates the university, its vendors, its donors or its ticketing platform to touch the token.

A second announcement saying the university or its suppliers would pay in XRP, or hold it, would give XRP holders something. If one arrives, the sponsorship could be the start of a wider deal and the XRP price would have something to trade on. If it never arrives, the September 5 logo debut would be a marketing buy that helps Ripple and leaves XRP where it was.
