Ripple News: Treasury Teams Retain Approval Authority

GSmart separates financial calculations from the AI functions that interpret information. Deterministic engines handle the calculations, while AI identifies patterns, interprets policies, and explains recommendations. Treasury teams retain authority over every financial action, according to Ripple’s description of the system.

Within that structure, orchestrated agents monitor forecasting, planning, liquidity, risk, reconciliation, and reporting processes. Each agent proposes a specific action and cites the policy clause supporting its recommendation. It then waits for approval before executing the proposed action.

Knowledge Studio supplies the organizational rules behind those checks. Treasury teams use it to define policies and controls governing how GSmart operates. The system checks proposed actions against those requirements before referring them to a person.

For reporting, Analytics Studio includes a conversational assistant called Ask GSmart. The assistant helps treasury teams retrieve answers and insights from their data. These functions support analysis alongside the policy checks that govern recommendations and financial actions.

Ripple News: Adoption Figures Cover Eligible Customers

As per Ripple, 60% of eligible customers have enabled Risk Insights, which identifies exposure anomalies and policy breaches. Meanwhile, 44% use Forecast Insights to compare forecast cash flows with actual results. That comparison helps treasury teams identify emerging liquidity gaps within their operations.

The percentages on Ripple news reflect Ripple’s own reporting and apply only to customers eligible for each feature.

However, they do not describe adoption across the entire customer base or establish independently audited usage rates. They also concern two specific capabilities, rather than every function included in the expansion.

The Ripple news announcement comes alongside Gartner research describing a gap between agent deployment and governance.

Gartner forecasts that the average global Fortune 500 enterprise could operate more than 150,000 AI agents by 2028. Only 13% of organizations believe they have appropriate agent governance in place, according to the research.

Renaat Ver Eecke, Ripple Treasury’s senior vice president, said CFOs face pressure to adopt AI while ensuring financial accountability.

He emphasized explainable decisions, organizational controls, and human oversight in both the announcement and a follow-up X post. He described GSmart’s approach as embedding intelligence within treasury policies, data, and existing workflows.

Expansion Builds on GTreasury and Digital Asset Tools

In addition to Ripple news, Ripple acquired GTreasury in 2025 and later renamed the business Ripple Treasury. The company said the platform handled over $13 trillion in transaction value during 2025 across more than 1,000 customers.

That activity came through the former GTreasury business and does not represent XRP settlement volume.

Earlier this year, Ripple added native digital asset capabilities, bringing fiat and digital balances into a single treasury view. GSmart adds predictive and analytical functions to those operations.
