Hyperliquid Price Rises as Hashdex Adds HYPE to Crypto ETF
Tue, 01 Sep 2026, 17:38 pm UTC
Hyperliquid price climbed 1.29% to around $83 as HYPE gained broader investment exposure following its addition to a regulated multi-asset cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund.
Hashdex has added HYPE to the Hashdex Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF, which trades under the ticker NCIQ. The inclusion took effect on September 1, 2026, expanding the fund from eight supported crypto assets to nine.
HYPE secured its place after meeting the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index eligibility criteria, which consider factors such as liquidity, market capitalization, qualified custody availability and regulatory listing requirements.
Hashdex initially launched NCIQ in February 2025 with only Bitcoin and Ethereum. Since then, the ETF has expanded as additional digital assets became eligible under the index methodology. Its portfolio now includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Stellar, Cardano, Chainlink and Bitcoin Cash.
Hyperliquid enters the index with a 3.36% weighting. Bitcoin continues to dominate the portfolio with a 74.36% allocation, followed by Ethereum at 11.88%. XRP represents 5.21% of the index, while Solana carries a 3.79% weighting.
The addition gives ETF investors exposure to HYPE without requiring them to buy or hold the cryptocurrency directly. Hashdex CIO Samir Kerbage said NCIQ was designed from the beginning to expand alongside the evolving digital asset market.
Kerbage also highlighted Hyperliquid’s decentralized trading model and recent regulatory developments, describing its ecosystem as an increasingly significant part of both cryptocurrency and broader financial markets.
The ETF inclusion comes as Hyperliquid seeks greater access to U.S. investors. The decentralized trading platform is particularly known for perpetual futures, although regulatory restrictions have historically limited access for U.S. users.
Hyperliquid and Kraken parent Payward have reportedly discussed bringing selected crypto perpetual futures to American traders through CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange Bitnomial. U.S. regulators are also exploring frameworks that could bring more offshore crypto trading activity under domestic oversight.
For HYPE, inclusion in Hashdex’s NCIQ ETF provides another regulated investment channel and could increase the token’s visibility among traditional and <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/kucoin-integrates-<a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/xrp-ledger-rolls-out-institutional-defi-suite-as-token-drops-16/” title=”XRP Ledger Rolls Out Institutional DeFi Suite as Token Drops 16%”>institutional-lending-with-unified-trading-accounts/” title=”KuCoin Integrates Institutional Lending With Unified Trading Accounts”>institutional crypto investors.
