Hyperliquid(HYPE) surged more than 20% in 24 hours and overtook Dogecoin(DOGE) by market value, moving into the crypto market’s top 10.
Key Points:
- HYPE rose more than 20% and moved ahead of Dogecoin to become the 10th-largest crypto asset by market capitalization.
- Hyperliquid’s perpetual-futures volume reached $34 billion after a 78% daily increase, while fees climbed from $1.3 million to $5.1 million.
- HYPE’s roughly $4 billion market-cap lead remains narrow enough to reverse if demand weakens.
Hyperliquid Market Flip
HYPE became one of the strongest performers in the latest market rebound, with CoinGecko data showing the token rising above $70 and taking the No. 10 position by market capitalization. Dogecoin gained about 6% over the same period.
The gap remains vulnerable to reversal. The original analysis put HYPE’s market-value advantage at roughly $4 billion, with its capitalization about 1.4 times Dogecoin’s, meaning continued demand would be needed to preserve the ranking.
The price move also returned HYPE to levels seen in early July, while the analysis identified $80 as the next technical area that could come into focus. A failure to hold support could instead expose leveraged long positions to a squeeze.
Dogecoin Ranking Pressure
On-chain activity provided stronger support for the rally than price action alone. DeFiLlama data cited in the analysis showed total perpetual-futures volume rising more than 78% in one day to $34 billion, with Hyperliquid accounting for more than half of that activity.
Higher trading activity translated into a sharp increase in protocol fees. Hyperliquid generated about $5.1 million in fees, up from $1.3 million a day earlier, an increase of nearly four times that linked the token’s rally with heavier use of the platform.
That distinction matters because Dogecoin’s move was much smaller during the same market rebound, while HYPE’s advance coincided with rising trading volume and fee generation.
Still, the roughly $4 billion market-cap cushion leaves little room for a sharp HYPE reversal or a stronger DOGE recovery.
HYPE’s return above $70 is also a reminder that the move has largely restored earlier price territory rather than opened a completely new range. The token had traded around these levels in early July, so holding them is the immediate test before the market can assess whether $80 is realistic.
