GoMining Academy Launches Free Blockchain and Crypto Course

GoMining Academy has launched “Blockchain and Crypto,” its third free educational course, offering an eight-lesson introduction to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, wallets, smart contracts and the technology behind cryptocurrency.

Designed for beginners with no prior knowledge required, the course expands GoMining Academy’s educational offering beyond GoMining and Bitcoin mining to cover the broader technology behind the crypto ecosystem. It includes approximately 80 minutes of video content and takes learners from the fundamentals of blockchain through concepts they are likely to encounter when using and storing cryptocurrency.

More than 740,000 learners have started a GoMining Academy course, with more than 194,000 completing at least one. Learners have submitted more than 105,000 ratings across the Academy’s existing courses, with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5.

The new course covers why blockchain was created, how decentralized networks operate and the differences between cryptocurrencies and traditional money. Lessons also examine Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, Bitcoin, altcoins, stablecoins, smart contracts, coins, tokens, NFTs, wallets and private keys.

The course also examines blockchain applications beyond currency and considers situations where blockchain may not be an appropriate solution. Additional topics include the energy requirements associated with mining, risks related to wallets and keys, and lessons from the NFT market.

Each lesson is available in video, text and audio formats, allowing participants to choose how they learn. Video subtitles are available in seven languages: English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian.

Each lesson is followed by two questions designed to test understanding. After completing all eight lessons, participants can take a 10-question final test, with a score of at least eight correct answers required to pass and receive a course completion certificate.

The course is designed for people who own cryptocurrency and want to better understand the technology behind their assets, GoMining users seeking additional context about the technology they use, and newcomers who regularly encounter terms such as blockchain, smart contracts, tokens and Web3.

“Blockchain and Crypto” is available now through GoMining Academy and is free to access. A GoMining account is not required to read the lessons, while users who want to save their progress, complete the final test and receive a certificate must sign in.
