Kevin Warsh, chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve, said he had only done what was needed to maintain price stability when asked about pressure from President Donald Trump to cut interest rates. Warsh added he would not comment on discussions with Trump. According to Walter Bloomberg, Warsh has previously avoided giving specific answers about conversations with Trump while emphasizing his commitment to preserving the Fed’s independence in monetary policy decisions.
