The U.S. SEC approved an exchange rule change on Oct. 2 for listing Volatility Shares’ three-times leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, along with ETFs tied to gold, silver, crude oil and natural gas.
According to an SEC filing, the approval covers a proposed rule change submitted by Cboe BZX Exchange. The approved products include the Volatility Shares 3x Bitcoin ETF (BITH) and the Volatility Shares 3x Ethereum ETF (ETHK), each designed to track three times the daily return of its underlying asset. The approval applies to the exchange’s listing rules, however, and additional procedures are still required before actual trading can begin.
