The U.S. is moving to counter organized crime and illicit cryptocurrency activity in the Pacific region, Bitcoin.com reported. Of a total $44 million budget, $5 million was allocated to the Pacific Alliance to Counter Illicit Finance and Cybercrime program, or PACIFIC, according to the report. Under the program, U.S. federal agencies will train local police officers in cryptocurrency tracing, beneficial ownership investigations and digital forensics.
