South Korean police have launched a preliminary investigation into newly confirmed hacking incidents at Mirae Asset Global Investments, Daishin Securities and crypto exchange Bithumb, Newsis reported on Tuesday.
South Korea’s National Office of Investigation said it had opened a pre-indictment probe into the additional cyberattacks affecting the financial sector. A police official said authorities were confirming further hacking damage and examining possible links to earlier hacking cases in the financial industry.
