Bitcoin’s current bull cycle may extend to 2028 as the market’s traditional four-year pattern has stretched into an eight-year cycle, according to crypto analyst Matthew Hyland.
Hyland said the current Bitcoin market cycle appears to have expanded to eight years from four, given that the macroeconomic downturn has lasted about twice as long as in the past. Hyland said the 2022-2026 macroeconomic weak patch lasted roughly twice as long as the 2014-2016 and 2018-2020 downturns, suggesting Bitcoin’s market cycle has also lengthened from four years to eight years. Hyland added that the bottom logged on July 1 fell in the 44th month of the eight-year cycle, leaving 52 months until the current cycle ends. On that basis, Hyland said Bitcoin is likely to rise above $250,000 in this cycle.
