Democratic Party lawmaker Park Min-kyu will hold a forum at the National Assembly on Nov. 2 to examine weakening competitiveness in South Korea’s digital asset market and discuss institutional reforms, Law Issue reported.
Park, a member of the National Assembly representing Seoul’s Gwanak A district, said the event titled ‘Coin Exodus, No Longer Something We Can Leave Unchecked – Emergency Review of the Competitiveness of South Korea’s Digital Asset Market in the AI Era and Institutional Reform Measures’ will take place at 5:00 a.m. UTC on Nov. 2 in a small conference room on the basement first floor of the National Assembly Library. Government officials will attend in person, and amid divided views over whether to delay the planned January 2027 rollout of virtual asset taxation, the head of the Income Tax Policy Division at the finance ministry will hear views from experts and industry officials.
