Kim Min-seok, leader of South Korea’s Democratic Party, said a decision on whether to proceed with virtual asset taxation as planned or revise the framework should be reached this year.
Appearing on the Democratic Party’s YouTube program ‘Minti 07’ today, Kim said it was time to begin focused discussions on whether to keep virtual asset taxation unchanged or pursue policy adjustments, adding the issue should be resolved this year. A day earlier, Kim said he was listening to a range of views on digital asset, or cryptocurrency, taxation and would work to help the National Assembly and the government find a reasonable solution through discussions that take into account regulatory improvements, the voices of young people and real-world conditions.
