Two official Irish police X accounts were hacked, leading to dozens of cryptocurrency promotion posts, local outlet RTE reported. According to the outlet, the hackers changed the profiles of the two accounts, which had about 600,000 and 300,000 followers, respectively, and disguised one of them as a crypto wallet customer support account. After confirming unauthorized third-party access, police said the breach was limited to the X accounts, with no damage to internal systems or loss of police data, and added they are investigating the incident with X.
