Venture capital investment in crypto and blockchain companies reached about $5.683 billion in the second quarter of 2026, up 31% from the previous quarter, according to an analysis by crypto asset manager Galaxy.
In its report on second-quarter crypto and blockchain venture capital activity, Galaxy said there were 384 investment deals in the quarter, up 10% from the previous quarter. About 78% of total funding was concentrated in later-stage companies, while U.S.-headquartered firms accounted for 73.5% of total investment. By sector, exchanges, trading, investing and lending companies attracted the most funding at about $3.523 billion, followed by DeFi at about $478 million. Privacy and security, tokenization, AI and infrastructure were also identified as key investment areas.
