The Federal Reserve’s Beige Book showed overall prices rose strongly in three of the 12 Federal Reserve districts and increased modestly in eight others, according to the report released on Oct. 14.
The report said input cost pressures were intensifying or already rising strongly in three districts. Employment was little changed across most districts, while only two of the 12 reported modest growth in economic activity since the previous Beige Book. The outlook tilted toward slight growth, although the report said momentum was concentrated in manufacturing and ongoing uncertainty continued to weigh on conditions.
