The European Commission is considering whether to classify staking as a licensed financial service separate from the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework, CryptoSlate reported, citing a MiCA review document. The consultation will run through Sept. 30, and any future legislative revision could bring major structural changes for staking providers across Europe and the broader proof-of-stake network ecosystem.
