Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, said at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 event in Hong Kong that the cryptocurrency industry has already overcome its harshest crypto winter and that its fundamentals remain solid. Zhao added that the outlook for the real-world asset, or RWA, tokenization market is bright, as on-chain assets can remove time and cross-border constraints, connect global investors, and improve liquidity for small and mid-sized assets.
On the global regulatory environment for crypto, Zhao said the United Arab Emirates is the most advanced, while the United States is making rapid progress on stablecoin and exchange regulation. He added that Japan has taken a friendly stance, Hong Kong is growing quickly, and Singapore is relatively conservative. Zhao also said decentralized exchanges, or DEXs, have matured in both technology and user awareness over the past eight years, and that the crypto industry could make a bigger leap if global regulation is eased further.
