Bitcoin is on track to post monthly gains for a third straight month in September, which would mark the first such streak since 2012, CoinDesk reported. BTC rose 4.8% in July and 25.2% in August, and was up around 10% in September.
According to the report, Bitcoin has recorded three consecutive months of gains only once in its history, in 2012. During that stretch, BTC rose 41.0% in July, 6.4% in August and 24.4% in September, before falling 9.7% in October. The analysis added that the 2012 episode offers limited value as a guide to the current market, as it represents a sample size of just one instance.
