The National Bank of Bahrain, or NBB, has signed a memorandum of understanding to review taking on the role of a Bahraini dinar settlement bank on blockchain-based cross-border payments network Partior, Ledger Insights reported. Partior is backed by DBS, JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered and Temasek, and uses tokenization technology to support real-time, 24/7 cross-border interbank payments. The network currently supports three currencies — the U.S. dollar, euro and Singapore dollar — and adding the Bahraini dinar would expand both its supported currencies and jurisdictions.
