Blockchain data firm Bitquery found 96,231 “fake address” outputs across 965,135 Bitcoin blocks, CryptoSlate reported. The outputs record text disguised as valid addresses and contain about 3.2 BTC. Because they are recognized as if they were actually spendable, they remain in the unspent transaction output, or UTXO, database and increase storage demands for nodes.
