Ethereum(ETH) has reclaimed the $2,500 area, putting a possible move toward $3,000 back in focus as buyers test resistance near $2,560.
Key Points:
- Ethereum is holding most of its August gains while pressing against resistance around $2,450 to $2,560.
- A sustained move above $2,560 could open a path toward the $2,920 to $3,030 resistance zone.
- Spot Taker CVD has turned positive, but buyers still need confirmation.
Ethereum Resistance Test
Ethereum remains near the upper end of a multiweek range after preserving most of the gains from its August breakout, according to analysis published by CryptoPotato and immediate resistance sits at $2,450 to $2,520, with ETH recently trading near the top of that zone
A convincing daily close above that area would strengthen the continuation case and expose the next major resistance band around $2,920 to $3,030. The setup still lacks confirmation.
On the four-hour chart, ETH has spent several weeks moving between roughly $2,350 and $2,560, repeatedly rejecting both boundaries without establishing a durable trend. A break above $2,560 would improve the bullish structure, while another rejection could send price back toward $2,430 to $2,450.
ETH Buyer Momentum
Spot Taker CVD has shifted toward positive territory over the past 90 days, showing that aggressive market buyers have again become more active than sellers. The shift coincided with ETH’s return toward $2,500.
The signal matters because a breakout supported by continued taker buying would carry more weight than a brief move above resistance. Weakening demand would undermine the breakout case.
The downside structure remains clear. A break below roughly $2,350 would weaken the continuation setup and put $2,220 to $2,270 back in focus, while the daily chart shows deeper support at $2,050 to $2,140 and rising moving averages beneath price.
That volatility remains fresh. After the August breakout narrowed into a several-week range, CPI-driven volatility briefly carried ETH above $2,560 to $2,660 before the move failed and price recovered toward resistance.
