Ethereum is showing three bullish signals: the Binance Taker Buy-Sell Ratio has risen to about 1.11, indicating buyers are more aggressive than sellers; more than 116,000 ETH worth roughly $300 million was withdrawn from exchanges over 48 hours, reducing available sell-side supply; and spot Ethereum ETFs recorded about $215.3 million in net inflows across five trading sessions from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. ETH has recovered from a drop to around $2,390 and is trading near $2,500. Analysts caution that sustained momentum requires the buy-sell ratio to hold above 1, continued exchange outflows, and rising volume.

    Key Elements
Ethereum Bullish Signals Stack Up as Buyers Regain Ground

A cluster of on-chain and institutional data points is signaling that buying pressure in Ethereum is strengthening again, even as the token continues to trade below the $2,500 mark following a turbulent start to September.

The most closely watched indicator comes from Binance, where the Taker Buy-Sell Ratio for Ethereum has climbed back above the critical 1 threshold, reaching approximately 1.11. The metric compares the volume of market orders executed on the buy side against those on the sell side, offering a real-time gauge of which camp is acting more aggressively.

CryptoQuant contributor Arab Chain highlighted the development, noting that a reading above 1 means buyers are currently overpowering sellers in the short term. But the analyst cautioned that the real test lies ahead. The question is not simply whether the ratio crossed 1, but whether it can hold above that level in the coming days. A sustained position above 1 would suggest that aggressive buying demand may continue to support Ethereum’s price momentum.

If the indicator slips back below the threshold, however, it could signal that selling pressure is reasserting itself. That makes the 1 level the key line to watch for anyone gauging Ethereum’s near-term direction.

Exchange Outflows Add to the Bullish Case

A second signal comes from exchange balances. Over a 48-hour window, more than 116,000 ETH was withdrawn from crypto exchanges, representing roughly $300 million in value at current prices. When investors move assets off exchanges and into external wallets, it is generally interpreted as a sign that they intend to hold rather than sell in the near term. The shrinking available supply on trading platforms reduces the amount of Ethereum that could be quickly liquidated, which can ease downward pressure on price.

The trend aligns with the broader narrative that short-term selling is losing steam. If exchange reserves continue to decline, it would remove one of the key obstacles standing in the way of a more durable rally.

    ETF Inflows Reflect Institutional Appetite

The third pillar of the bullish argument comes from spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds. Between Aug. 31 and Sept. 4, these funds pulled in roughly $215.3 million in net inflows across five trading sessions, according to data cited in the analysis.

The week opened with a strong $87.6 million inflow on Aug. 31, followed by a modest $8.6 million on Sept. 1. Sept. 2 brought the only setback of the period, with $48.2 million in net outflows. But the momentum quickly reversed: Sept. 3 saw $141.4 million pour into the funds, and another $25.9 million followed on Sept. 4.

The sustained appetite from institutional investors suggests that interest in Ethereum exposure has not faded despite the token’s choppy price action. That institutional demand, combined with retail-side buying aggression and shrinking exchange supply, paints a picture of mounting accumulation.

Ethereum’s price path in early September has been volatile. After sliding to around $2,390 in the opening days of the month, ETH staged a strong recovery and briefly climbed above $2,500. It has since pulled back slightly but remains within striking distance of that level. Bitcoin‘s drop below $80,000 at the start of the week added to the broader market uncertainty, yet Ethereum’s relative resilience has drawn attention from analysts.

Despite the confluence of positive signals, the analyst emphasized that no single metric guarantees an uptrend. For the bullish case to solidify, the Taker Buy-Sell Ratio needs to maintain its position above 1, exchange outflows need to persist, and ETF inflows need to continue. Just as important, trading volume must expand alongside price gains. Without volume confirmation, the current signals could prove fleeting.

The coming days will reveal whether these indicators represent the early stages of a sustained move higher or merely a temporary shift in market dynamics. For now, the data suggests the balance of power in the Ethereum market is tilting back toward buyers.

Note: The ETF inflow figures cited above total approximately $215.3 million across the five trading days from Aug. 31 through Sept. 4, based on daily data reported in the analysis.
