Ethereum ETFs just had their best month in nearly a year, and the numbers behind that headline are worth sitting with for a moment.

U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $225.8 million in net inflows on August 27, 2026, the strongest single-day figure since October 28, 2025. That one-day total capped a nine-to-ten session winning streak that pulled in $1.42 billion in net inflows since August 17, making August 2026 the most compelling month for Ethereum ETF demand since the products first found their footing.

BlackRock is doing most of the heavy lifting

Of that $1.42 billion streak, BlackRock’s ETHA fund was responsible for roughly $1.02 billion, or about 72% of the total.

Fidelity’s FETH and BlackRock’s staked ETHB product also contributed meaningfully to the August surge, suggesting the broader Ethereum ETF shelf is attracting capital beyond just the flagship name.

Since ETHA launched in July 2024, cumulative net inflows into the fund have now exceeded $12 billion. Combined assets under management across all U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs sit in the $12 billion to $13 billion range.

The Bitcoin ETF gap is narrowing

On August 27, the same day Ethereum ETFs pulled in $225.8 million, Bitcoin ETFs captured $242.3 million. The gap between the two was just $16.5 million.

One mid-month session reportedly saw a single-day or short-window surge of over $534 million in inflows, underscoring just how active August was relative to the months that preceded it.

Why August and why now

Ethereum ETF inflows do not move in isolation. August 2026 coincided with a broader period of renewed institutional interest in crypto markets, and macro conditions appear to have played a role in directing capital toward risk assets with institutional-grade wrappers.

Ethereum ETFs launched in July 2024 to a muted reception compared to Bitcoin’s January 2024 debut. The August 2026 numbers are a reminder that second place can still be a very large number. The cumulative $12 billion in net inflows since launch places Ethereum ETFs in rarefied territory by any traditional ETF benchmark, accumulated in roughly two years.

What to watch from here

BlackRock’s 72% share of the recent inflow streak is a commanding position, but Fidelity and other issuers are competing on fee structure and product differentiation, including staking features embedded in newer offerings.
