Dogecoin(DOGE) has climbed about 33% month-to-date as open interest reached $635 million, even while several memecoins posted larger weekly gains.
Key Points:
- Dogecoin traded near $0.091 after gaining about 33% month-to-date, while its RSI moved above 78.
- DOGE open interest reached roughly $635 million as positive funding rates showed derivatives traders leaning bullish on further gains.
- Several memecoins outpaced Dogecoin, while the Altcoin Season Index remained at 39.
Dogecoin Momentum
Dogecoin was trading near $0.091 at the time of reporting, with strong buying pressure as the token extended its recent advance. RSI topped 78, while the Chaikin Money Flow reading was 0.19.
Those indicators showed capital was still moving into DOGE after the rally. Derivatives activity also strengthened, with open interest climbing to about $635 million and funding rates remaining positive, a combination that suggested traders were paying to maintain bullish long positions.
The technical picture is strong but increasingly stretched. With RSI already above 78, the rally was showing strong momentum, leaving traders to watch whether buying pressure could persist after the sharp advance.
Memecoin Rotation
Dogecoin was not the strongest performer in the group, as Official Trump(TRUMP) rose about 79% over the week and Pudgy Penguins(PENGU) gained 61%. Pepe(PEPE) advanced nearly 60%, while Bonk(BONK) and SPX6900(SPX) rose about 38% and 45%, respectively.
Shiba Inu(SHIB) added about 22%, while DOGE itself was up roughly 31% for the week. The broad gains point to a concentrated risk-on move in memecoins, rather than clear evidence that the wider altcoin market has entered a sustained expansion.
That distinction matters because the Altcoin Season Index stood at 39, down from 44 a week earlier and 53 a month earlier. The reading suggested <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/strive-buys-more-<a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/bitcoin-traders-place-2-9-million-bet-on-a-rapid-price-jump-above-82000/” title=”Bitcoin traders place $2.9 million bet on a rapid price jump above $82,000″>bitcoin-while-sitting-on-a-292-million-paper-loss/” title=”Strive Buys More Bitcoin While Sitting on a $292 Million Paper Loss”>Bitcoin(BTC) still held the broader market advantage, despite the sharp speculative rotation into higher-risk tokens.
The next test is whether Dogecoin can preserve its breakout. In recent weeks, the Altcoin Season Index has moved lower even as individual memecoins rallied sharply, showing that sector-specific momentum can strengthen without developing into a full altcoin season.
