CryptoQuant still wants Bitcoin to close above its 365-day moving average near $83,000 before confirming a new bull market.
Bitcoin’s 24% rebound may have pushed the crypto into the opening stage of a new bull market after one of its primary market gauges more than doubled in a week
Elsewhere, Fairlead Strategies founder Katie Stockton and other analysts have also identified evidence of a bullish shift, leaving holders hopeful that another Bitcoin bull run could be on the horizon.
Bitcoin Bull Score More Than Doubles
The crypto climbed from around $64,000 on Aug. 17 to briefly touch $80,000, its highest level in more than three months.
Bitcoin was trading near $79,000 on Aug. 27, holding most of its gains despite signs that large holders have started taking profits.
CryptoQuant’s Bitcoin Bull Score surged from 30 to 80 during the rally, marking its strongest reading since Oct. 6, 2025.
The composite gauge tracks 10 on-chain and valuation indicators to assess whether Bitcoin is operating under bullish or bearish conditions.
Eight of those 10 metrics are now flashing bullish, according to the firm’s Aug. 25 report.
“This is a genuine regime shift, the initial phase of a new bull market,” CryptoQuant said.
The comparison with October is particularly notable because Bitcoin was trading near the top of its bull run cycle at the time.
A CoinMarketCap historical snapshot placed Bitcoin at approximately $123,513 on Oct. 5, after the crypto had climbed above $125,000 intraday.
CryptoQuant said apparent spot demand is now expanding at its fastest monthly pace since late December.
Spot and perpetual futures demand have also turned positive together for the first time since early October 2025, suggesting that genuine buying and leveraged activity are supporting the rally simultaneously.
Despite that improvement, CryptoQuant stopped short of declaring the transition complete.
Bitcoin’s 365-day moving average currently stands near $83,000, around 5% above the cryptocurrency‘s recent closing price.
“A decisive break above $83K would confirm the new bull market,” the firm said.
Until that happens, CryptoQuant believes the level could act as initial resistance and potentially trigger an early bull-market correction.
