Cardano developers are racing toward a Sept. 1 planning deadline for the Dijkstra upgrade, focusing on testing, ecosystem readiness and support for alternative node implementations. Phase 1 will introduce Linear Leios and Nested Transactions, adding Endorser Blocks to raise transaction throughput while retaining the Praos security model, and will include PlutusV4, transaction data structure and protocol setting changes targeted for code completion in Q4 2026 to prepare for Peras. The upgrade is expected to boost crypto adoption and DeFi scalability by improving throughput and smart contract capabilities.

Cardano developers are preparing for the Dijkstra upgrade as the network moves toward a Sept. 1 planning deadline.
Intersect said the upgrade remains on track, with teams now focused on testing, ecosystem readiness and support for alternative node implementations.
Dijkstra Phase 1 will introduce Linear Leios and Nested Transactions, with developers targeting code completion in the fourth quarter of 2026.
