What Else Is Dragging Prices Down Today?
A handful of negative headlines added to the pressure on crypto prices.
-
Trezor’s shipping provider breach has now exposed data belonging to 67,000 more US customers.
-
The Robinhood Chain block explorer showed no new blocks produced for over six minutes, pointing to a possible network outage.
-
President Trump called on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates after the August jobs report came in far weaker than expected, with the miss nearly tripling forecasts. Trump also threatened to stop trading with countries that run a trade deficit with the US if the Fed doesn’t act, adding that the Fed “must get smart.”
What Next For Crypto Market?
There’s one piece of good news buried in today’s Crypto News ETF story. According to Wu Blockchain, citing Semafor, the National Sheriffs’ Association has dropped its opposition to the CLARITY Act and moved to a neutral stance after months of warning the bill could make prosecuting illicit finance harder. That removes a real law-enforcement objection just before a Senate vote.
A cloture vote, the Senate procedure needed to end debate and move a bill forward, is scheduled for September 15, 2026, and needs 60 votes to pass. Republicans hold 53 Senate seats, so at least seven Democrats must cross over for the bill to move ahead. Disputes over limits on presidential crypto-related profits remain unresolved.
Conclusion
Today’s Crypto news ETF shows crypto pulled in two directions at once. Bitcoin and Ethereum funds keep gaining ground while XRP and Solana funds stall or bleed out. Add a Fed rate fight and a Senate vote due September 15, and the next two weeks look busy for anyone tracking crypto closely.
