Anchorage Digital Bank has extended its institutional custody offering to cover Etherlink, a Tezos-based layer-2 network, along with seven assets issued on it. The expansion was announced Sept. 16 and gives the bank’s institutional clients access to a range of assets through segregated accounts at a federally chartered institution.
Among the newly supported assets is xU3O8, a token that represents ownership of physical uranium. Holding xU3O8 gives investors exposure to the commodity without the need to directly handle or store it. CoinMarketCap data shows the token currently carries a market cap just above $9 million. The other six supported assets include wrapped XTZ (WXTZ), liquid staking token stXTZ, wrapped Ether (WETH), and stablecoins USDT, USDC, and USDSM.
Etherlink is an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible network that settles transactions on Tezos. Anchorage said the integration allows its clients to custody Etherlink-issued assets through accounts held directly at the federally chartered bank. Anchorage Digital Bank holds the distinction of being the first federally chartered crypto bank in the US.
Physical uranium has traditionally required specialist intermediaries, long settlement periods, and high minimum investment sizes to access. Anchorage saidtokenization compresses that settlement window from weeks to minutes. Anchorage is not the first institutional custodian to support xU3O8. Digital asset custodian Hex Trust integrated Etherlink for the same purpose in August 2025.
The move reflects a broader push by institutional custodians to supportreal-world asset (RWA) tokens beyond the usual categories of treasuries and private credit. Uranium joins a growing list of physical commodities finding their way onto blockchain networks as tokenized instruments. Tokenized commodities have attracted increasing interest from institutional investors looking for regulated access to assets that have historically been difficult to hold directly.
