AMARILLO (KVII) —An Amarillo man accused of using <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/<a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/bitcoin-price-analysis-today-btc-faces-sub/” title=”Bitcoin Price Analysis Today: BTC Faces Sub”>bitcoin-ether-rebound-as-short-liquidations-hit-427-million/” title=”Bitcoin, Ether rebound as short liquidations hit $427 million”>Bitcoin to access child pornography on the dark web was indicted by a federal grand jury.
Jose Adrian Bosquez was indicted Sept. 9 on one count of access with intent to view child pornography.
The indictment alleges Bosquez knowingly accessed material depicting the sexual abuse of a minor from an unknown date through about Aug. 19.
Bosquez was arrested last month after the FBI said investigators linked a Coinbase account in his name to a Bitcoin payment sent to a website on the Tor network that authorities said advertised child sexual abuse material.
Agents executed a search warrant at Bosquez’s Amarillo home Aug. 19. According to the complaint, Bosquez admitted he used cryptocurrency to access the website and viewed child sexual abuse material there.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.
