AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —An Amarillo man accused of using <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/strategys-66b-bitcoin-machine-hinges-on-capital-markets-not-btc-price-report/” title=”Strategy’s $66B Bitcoin machine hinges on capital markets, not BTC price: Report”>Bitcoin to access to child porn on the dark web was arrested by the FBI.
Jose Adrian Bosquez, 39, is charged with access with intent to view child pornography.
According to court records obtained by ABC 7 News, Bosquez paid $16.61 worth of Bitcoin on April 5, 2024 for a daily subscription to a website that promoted itself as as “the largest open library of free child pornography videos and images.”
The FBI executed a search warrant at his his home on Aug. 19.
Agents said he admitted sending cryptocurrency to the website and to viewing child sexual abuse material.
According to court records, Bosquez told agents he accessed of viewed child pornography approximately five times. The most recent occurrence happened n February or March when he said he paid someone through PayPal for access to a Telegram group where such material was posted.
He faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
A preliminary examination and detention hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
