Ethereum staking reached a record 43.8 million ETH at the end of the third quarter, with net inflows of 1.99 million ETH during the quarter and a sixth straight quarter of growth, crypto asset manager Bitwise said in a report on Oct. 20.
Bitwise said 35.9% of Ethereum’s total supply was staked, while the annual yield fell to 2.63% from 2.81%. For Solana, 69% of total supply was staked and the yield declined to 5.99% from 6.38%.
The number of Ethereum validators fell to about 881,000 from about 1.1 million, but Bitwise said that reflected operators consolidating validators after the Pectra upgrade rather than a decline in staked ETH. Solana validator count dropped to 659 from 696 as operating costs weighed, marking a roughly 30% decline from a year earlier.
