Bitcoin Austria unveiled a statue of BTC creator Satoshi Nakamoto in Vienna’s Viertel Zwei district on Oct. 14, Trending Topics reported. The installation marks Austria’s first contribution to the “21 Nodes” project, which aims to place one such statue in each of 21 countries worldwide.
The statue depicts a programmer seated in front of a laptop and is made of mirror-polished stainless steel. More than 1.3 BTC in donations from individuals and companies funded the work, with Bitpanda participating as a key sponsor. The project is being led by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi, and similar statues have already been installed in Lugano, New York and Tokyo.
