X Money, the Fintech segment of social media platform X, has added a new trading pathway to its cashtag system, giving US users a shorter route from market conversation to an actual brokerage or <a href="https://xpertsstudio.com/shareholders-challenge-pay-at-crypto-treasury-firms/” title=”Shareholders Challenge Pay at Crypto Treasury Firms”>crypto exchange.
The company announced the US Cashtag Partner Program on September 15, 2026, attaching a “Trade” option to supported tickers for stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies.
Cashtags have existed on the platform for years as dollar-sign tickers such as $AAPL or $BTC.
Earlier in 2026, X upgraded them into interactive pages that surface live charts and related posts.
The latest step does not turn X into a broker. Instead, it links those asset pages to five launch partners:
Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase.
The flow is straightforward.
A user searches for or taps a supported cashtag, reviews the chart and discussion still inside X, then selects Trade.
From there, the app or site of the chosen partner opens. Existing customers sign in; new users can register.
The order is placed, settled, and custodied by the partner, not by X.That division of labor is deliberate.
X is positioning itself as the discovery and conversation layer, while licensed firms handle execution and compliance.
Interactive Brokers and Moomoo cover traditional securities.
Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini cover digital assets.
Not every ticker is available at every partner, so the Trade menu only shows venues that can actually handle the selected instrument.

Product engineering lead Mridul Singhai described the intent as closing the distance between a ticker in the timeline and the market itself. Users already treat X as a real-time finance feed.
The new links try to convert that attention into action without forcing people to leave the conversation, hunt for a brokerage app, and re-enter the same ticker.
The program also fits X’s broader effort to become a more complete financial surface, sitting alongside earlier cashtag data tools and the company’s payments work.
For traders who already live in the feed, the change is mainly about speed: see the discussion, check the chart, choose a venue, and finish the trade on a regulated platform.
There are clear limits.
Availability is US-only at launch. X does not hold funds or process the order.
Users still complete know-your-customer checks, funding, and order entry with the partner they pick.
The feature is therefore a routing layer rather than in-app brokerage.Even so, the design matters.
Whether that produces meaningful volume will depend on how often users actually follow through and how well partners convert those handoffs. For now, the update is a practical expansion of cashtags: from conversation and charts to a one-tap path toward a trade.
